Every climber knows the feeling: you walk out of the gym after a solid session and can’t remember what you actually did. Was it five reds and three blues? Two hours of volume work or one focused project? That gap between effort and memory is why I built ClimbLog.
I spent years tracking climbing workouts in spreadsheets and note apps, trying to force climbing into fitness frameworks designed for other sports. The problem was always the same: gyms don’t use V-grades consistently, and neither should I. My local gym uses color tape, so my log should too. ClimbLog lets you record training the way your gym actually grades routes—red, orange, yellow, blue, whatever colors your gym uses.
What It Does
- Gym-specific color ladders: Set up your climbing gym with its actual color grades. Supports multiple locations, so you can track sessions separately across different gyms. You can even attach a photo of your gym’s difficulty chart for reference.
- Simple session tracking: Log attempts and sends for each color in real time. Count attempts, sends, laps (round trips), or one-ways. A quick-start button lets you repeat yesterday’s session structure so volume training doesn’t require re-entering everything.
- Accessory work in one place: Track pull-ups, deadlifts, push-ups, planks, and custom exercises alongside your climbing. Log them by sets, reps, or time.
- Weekly goals and streaks: Set a target like three sessions per week and watch your progress and consecutive-week streaks on your home screen.
- Growth through stats: View weekly, monthly, and all-time graphs showing session volume, color-by-color sends over time, and personal records for accessory work. Filter by gym to compare progress across different locations.
Built to be lightweight and private: No sign-up required—install and start using immediately. All your data stays on your phone; nothing is sent to a server. It works completely offline and supports dark mode and both English and Korean.
Who This Is For
ClimbLog is built for climbers who want a hassle-free way to track actual training volume without the friction of fitness apps designed for other sports. If you climb at the same gym regularly and want to see how your send patterns change over weeks and months, this is for you. If you mix climbing with accessory work and want it all in one log, or if you prefer a quiet, private record with zero social features, you’ll find what you’re looking for here. The app respects that climbing is personal—your data stays with you.
ClimbLog is available now on the App Store. Whether you’re trying to dial in your send-to-attempt ratio or just curious about how much volume you’re actually moving each week, it’s ready to start recording your progress. Download it today and turn those sessions into data.
