ProofDay: Prove Your Habits With a Daily Photo Streak

Every habit tracker assumes you’ll stay motivated by yourself. Most people don’t. You promise yourself a morning run, a new study routine, or 100 days without a drink, and by day three it quietly fades because nobody else knows you stopped.

I built ProofDay because private goals kept dying private deaths for me. A solo streak-counter never held me accountable the way telling another person did. So I built an app around the opposite idea: no money on the line, no streaks hidden in a private app — just a public declaration and a daily photo that proves you showed up.

What it does

  • Public declarations: pick a template (exercise, study, quitting smoking or drinking, routines, hobbies) or write your own goal. Set it to daily, N times a week, or N times a month, choose a length (7, 30, 66, 100 days, or open-ended), and optionally lock in a proof window like 06:00-09:00.
  • In-app camera proof: photos taken in the app get a date and time stamp and a “Proved today” badge. Running late? Post a gallery photo as a late proof for up to two days back. Location data is stripped server-side.
  • One-tap cheers: react to someone’s proof with one of four fixed cheers — On fire, Amazing, Tomorrow too, Let’s go together. There’s no free-text comment box, so there’s no room for trolling.
  • Cheer exchange and feed: right after you post, you see other people who just posted too, so even your very first proof gets a reaction. Follow people whose goals you like and copy them with a one-tap “Me too.”
  • Consistency records and rest passes: every goal tracks completion rate, current streak, and a proof calendar, and your profile builds a contribution heatmap. Each goal earns a rest pass every 7 days, so missing one day doesn’t have to break your streak.

Reminders ping you when your proof window opens and again an hour before it closes, and you get notified when someone cheers or follows you. Each goal can be set to public, followers-only, or private, and reporting and blocking are built in if a feed ever needs cleanup.

ProofDay is for anyone who has started a workout plan, a study schedule, or a wake-up routine more times than they’d like to admit, and watched it dissolve once the initial motivation wore off. It’s also for people whose accountability group chat went quiet months ago, or who just want one place to say “I did it again today” about something hard, like quitting smoking or drinking, and have someone actually see it.

ProofDay is free with a small banner ad, and you can sign up with email, Google, or Apple. If you’ve got a habit you keep abandoning by day three, give it a try on Google Play and see what happens when someone’s actually watching.
