If you’re a law student, exam taker, or legal professional in Korea, you know the frustration: you need to look up a specific Civil Code provision, but finding it quickly without the right reference tool feels like searching through a phone book. I built this app to solve that exact problem.
The Korean Civil Code viewer (민법 조문 조회) was already available on iOS, and after seeing how useful it became for my own studies and practice, I decided to bring it to Android so more people could benefit from it.

What It Does
- Search by article number or keyword — Type “839” or search for concepts like “legitimate portion” or “leasehold rights” and get instant results with full text displayed.
- Read the entire Civil Code in one flow — Scroll continuously through all sections (General Provisions, Real Rights, Obligations, Family Law, Inheritance) with chapter and section headers always visible so you know where you are.
- Jump between related articles — Tap any reference like “Article 118” within the text and jump directly to it, so you can follow connected regulations without hunting manually.
- Build a personal favorites list — Save articles you use frequently and view full text inline without extra navigation. Listen to them aloud via text-to-speech, all at once if you want.
- Comfortable reading modes — Dark mode for night study sessions, adjustable font sizes, and the ability to share articles via KakaoTalk or your memo app.

The app stays lightweight by working entirely offline—no login, no account, no external server. Your favorites and settings live only on your device. The provisions reflect the latest versions from South Korea’s National Law Information Center, so you’re always referencing current law.

Who Should Use It
This is built for anyone preparing for Korea’s Bar Exam, Law School Admission Test (LEET), or professional certifications like Real Estate Agent or Administrative Agent. Law school students and majors will find it indispensable for coursework and note-taking. Even if you’re not a lawyer, if you need to check Civil Code provisions about contracts, inheritance disputes, or family law questions, this beats flipping through PDFs or navigating clunky web interfaces.

The app is available now on Google Play for Android devices. Download it free and give it a try—whether you’re cramming for an exam or just need a reliable Civil Code reference at your fingertips.
