I Built a Private Food Delivery Logbook for iOS

You’re scrolling through a delivery app, staring at a restaurant with 4.8 stars. But something nags at you: did I order from here before? Was it good? The App Store is flooded with restaurant review apps, but they’re all public, and they’re all inflated by promotional incentives. What you really need is a private logbook—one that remembers your own honest experiences.

I built this app because I got tired of making the same delivery mistakes. I’d order from a place, be disappointed, forget about it, and then order from the same place six months later and get disappointed again. My friends in Korea had the same problem. We needed a way to quickly check: have I tried this restaurant, and would I order from it again?

What It Does

  • Auto-fills orders from screenshots. Capture your order confirmation from any Korean delivery app (Bamin, Coupang Eats, Yogiyo) and the app reads the restaurant name, order date, amount paid, and menu items automatically using OCR. No manual data entry needed.
  • Simple pass/fail ratings. Mark each restaurant as White (would order again), Black (never again), or Neutral (it was fine). The judgment appears as a quick stamp on your restaurant list so you never repeat mistakes.
  • Rate by menu item. The same restaurant can have wildly different food quality depending on what you order. Rate and review individual dishes so you can build your own strategy—”only order the fried chicken here,” for example.
  • Trust indicators. The app distinguishes between orders you paid for yourself versus promotional or free orders, so you don’t confuse event-driven five-star ratings with your actual experience.
  • See your spending patterns. View charts showing your monthly delivery spending, order frequency, average transaction size, pass/fail ratios, and breakdowns by platform and food category. It’s eye-opening.
  • Completely private. Everything stays on your device. No sign-up, no server, no restaurant owner watching your reviews. You can export your data as JSON for backup or migration whenever you want.

This app is purpose-built for people ordering food delivery regularly in Korea, where the delivery ecosystem is mature and ubiquitous. But the core frustration—forgetting which places you’ve tried and which you liked—should feel familiar to anyone in any city who uses delivery apps frequently.

You’ll get the most out of this app if you’re tired of hunting through old orders in your delivery app history, you’ve been burned by inflated review scores before, or you just want to track your own spending habits without judgment. It’s not a social network or a sharing tool. It’s a personal ledger.

The app is available now on the App Store for iOS. If you’ve ever wondered whether to order from a place again and wished you’d written it down, give it a try.
