I built TypeDex to solve that exact problem—a simple, private way to collect and organize personality type profiles for the people in your life.
Why I Built This
I started noticing that personality type conversations come up naturally with friends and colleagues. Someone would mention their type, or you’d take a quiz together, and then… what? The information gets lost in chat history or forgotten entirely. Meanwhile, you end up wondering what type gaps exist in your close circle, or whether you and a friend are actually compatible on paper.
I wanted something lightweight and focused—just a place to record people’s types, add a face or emoji, jot a quick note, and see the bigger picture of your social circles. And crucially, I wanted it to stay entirely on your phone. No servers, no data collection, no privacy headaches.
What It Does
- Build a Type Dex. Collect all 16 personality types as cute mascot cards. As you add friends, your collection fills in, and you’ll instantly see which types you’re still missing.
- Record People Cards. Save a name, photo or emoji, a one-line note, and the date you met. Minimal friction—just the essentials.
- Organize by Groups. Bundle people into families, teams, clubs, or any grouping that makes sense. View the type distribution for each group at a glance with a donut chart.
- Check Compatibility. Pick two types and see a compatibility score, then share the result with a friend for laughs.
- Complete Privacy. Everything stays on your device. No syncing to servers, no backups to the cloud unless you explicitly export your data yourself.
