Track Gift Money Exchange with iOS App

Ever been handed an invitation to a wedding, funeral, or celebration and immediately wondered: “How much did I give last time?” You’re not alone. If you’ve caught yourself digging through old text messages, bank statements, and scraps of paper trying to remember who gave what and when, I built something that might save you hours of frustration.

I’m an indie developer in Korea, and this problem hit home during wedding season. My friends and I found ourselves constantly asking each other “How much did you give at the last wedding?” — partly out of curiosity, partly out of genuine concern about settling up fairly. The usual solution was scattered notes and fuzzy memories. So I built an app to handle it properly.

What It Does

  • Bidirectional tracking by person: Records both money you received and money you gave, then automatically calculates the net balance with each person. You’ll see at a glance who you owe and who owes you.
  • Reply reminders: The app flags relationships where you received a gift but haven’t yet reciprocated, so you never miss an opportunity to return the gesture. You can adjust the reciprocal amount threshold in settings.
  • Five event types and relationship tags: Log weddings, funerals, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and business openings. Tag each entry with your relationship to the person (family, relative, coworker, friend, acquaintance) and add details like location, the celebrant’s name, and notes.
  • Monthly and annual statistics: View summaries of money received, given, and net balance over time. Charts break down totals by relationship type and event category so you see spending patterns at a glance.
  • Search and backup: Find any record by name or location instantly. Export and import your data as CSV files, making it easy to back up or migrate to a new phone.

Privacy matters: All records stay on your device. There’s no account creation, no cloud sync, and no data sent to servers. Your gift history remains yours alone.

Who This Is For

This app was built for Korean culture, where the etiquette around celebratory gifts and condolence money is deeply embedded in social life. But the core problem transcends geography: anyone who regularly exchanges money with the same group of people will find value in tracking it cleanly. If you attend weddings, funerals, or milestone celebrations and want to be thoughtful about reciprocating gifts, this app removes the guesswork.

Try it on the App Store today. It’s a straightforward way to keep your gift exchanges honest, organized, and stress-free.
