Meet Dating Note: A Private Journal for Modern Dating

After a few dates, the details blur together. Was it the second person who loved traveling? Did that conversation feel natural, or did it fall flat? And why weren’t you sure about going forward? I built Dating Note to solve this problem—a private diary for recording dates and reflecting on them clearly.

This isn’t a dating app in the traditional sense. It doesn’t connect you with anyone or help you find matches. Instead, it’s a personal record keeper that lives entirely on your phone, helping you make clearer decisions about your dating life based on actual memories, not fuzzy impressions.

What It Does

  • Record each date in five simple steps: Basic details, information about the other person, conversation topics, honest reflection, and free-form notes. You can capture location, how you met, number of meetings, subjects discussed, and a one-line impression.
  • Organize people with cards and timelines: Each person gets their own card with tags, status, and notes. See every meeting with that person laid out chronologically to spot patterns over time.
  • Track relationship status: Mark where things stand—ongoing, next date planned, considering, or waiting for a response—so you know exactly where each connection sits.
  • Reflect honestly after each date: Answer quick self-check questions about the conversation, how comfortable you felt, any awkward moments, their reactions, and your emotions. Get scored insights and reports that reveal your own patterns.
  • Analyze your dating patterns: View averages, common themes, and trends so you understand what you actually enjoy and what keeps repeating.

Privacy first, always. Everything is stored 100% locally on your device. No accounts, no sign-ups, no cloud syncing. You can lock the app with Face ID or your device passcode, block screenshots if you want, and export or import your data anytime.

Who This Is For

Whether you’re meeting people through formal introductions, dating apps, friends, or anywhere else, Dating Note is for anyone who wants to pause and reflect on their dating life with a clear head. It’s especially useful if you’re juggling multiple connections and want to remember the actual details instead of relying on hazy feelings. The app supports both English and Korean.

I built this originally for my own dating life in Korea, but the core idea—remembering what actually happened instead of what we feel happened—works for anyone, anywhere.

Dating Note is now available on the App Store. Download it, start recording your dates, and discover what your own patterns reveal.
