Ever wondered whether two people are actually compatible—not as a vague feeling, but as a measurable reading based on birth chart alignment? I built Four Pillars Match to answer that question. Instead of telling you “you two get along,” it breaks down exactly where that score comes from, factor by factor.
I built this app because I was frustrated with how intimidating BaZi astrology felt. The vocabulary alone—Ten Gods, Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, harmony relations—kept me from actually understanding what a reading meant. At the same time, relationship readings felt too vague. I wanted something that showed its work: why a match scored 72 instead of 68, which specific branches clashed, and how the five-element cycle ran between two people.
The result is an app designed for anyone curious about compatibility, whether you’re checking a relationship before a wedding, wondering if a friendship or business partnership will actually work, or just exploring BaZi theory without feeling lost in the jargon.
What It Does
- Six relationship types, scored separately. Dating, crush, marriage, friends, business, and family each weight the chart differently—so a crush reading doesn’t use the same math as a business partnership. You get a score from 0–100 with a letter grade (A+ down to D).
- Complete score breakdown. Every point added or subtracted is explained. Day Master elements, spouse palace harmony, zodiac relations, and elemental balance each show their signed contribution with a one-line reason.
- Five Elements cycle diagram. Both day masters appear on a Wood–Fire–Earth–Metal–Water pentagon so you can see at a glance how the generating and controlling cycles flow between you.
- Built-in glossary with a hundred terms. Unfamiliar with “Six Harmony” or “Punishment”? Tap any term from the result screen and get a plain one-line definition.
- Saved match history. Store readings, filter by relationship type, and revisit them later. Export and import your history as a file when you switch devices.
How It Works
Accuracy matters. Month pillars are set by solar terms (spring starts the year), lunar dates are fully supported including leap months, and all calculations are verified against Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute reference values. The math is rule-based and deterministic—the same input always produces the same result. No AI guessing, nothing sent to a server.
You can also customize the reading. Turn off the hour pillar when birth time is unknown, or switch between three weighting presets—Balanced, Element-focused, or Harmony/Clash-focused—to read the same chart through different schools’ eyes. Every weight is documented on screen so you know exactly what changed.
Who This Is For
This app is for anyone checking compatibility between two people: couples before a wedding, friends curious about their bond, business partners wondering if they’ll actually work well together, or anyone exploring a romantic connection. You don’t need prior BaZi knowledge—the built-in glossary and score explanations are written for people new to Four Pillars theory. If you’ve always wanted to understand BaZi but found the vocabulary overwhelming, this removes that barrier.

No sign-up required. Open the app and start matching immediately. Birth details stay on your device—nothing is uploaded, and the app works offline. It’s available in Korean and English with light and dark themes.
