Tired of bouncing between multiple Korean community forums hunting for discounts? I built Ængdeal to solve that problem — an app that automatically pulls active deals from across the major Korean online communities and surfaces them in a single, real-time feed.
The app was already available on iOS, but I’ve now launched it on Android via Google Play. If you’ve been waiting for an Android version, it’s finally here.
Why I built this
I noticed I was spending way too much time jumping between different community sites just to catch a good deal before it sold out. The same deal hunting ritual I saw in my own habits was clearly something a lot of people were doing. The core insight was simple: why should you manually visit five different communities when the app can aggregate everything for you?
I wanted to create something that felt less like a shopping app and more like a personal deal assistant — something that learns what you care about and gets smarter over time.
How it works
- Real-time deal collection: New posts from Korean online communities are automatically pulled and added to your feed. Each deal shows the product image, price, shipping status, and which community it came from. Tap “View original” to jump directly to the source post.
- Smart notifications: Set keywords for things you’re waiting to buy — if a deal matches, you’ll get notified. You can set up to 20 keywords, or subscribe to entire categories instead (Electronics, Food & Supplements, Beauty & Fashion, Home & Living, Games & Software, Events & Gift Cards, Baby & Parenting, Hobbies & Books).
- Personalized feed ranking: The app learns from the deals you open and gradually moves items you’ll actually care about toward the top. Your mypage shows interest distribution so you can see which categories you’re gravitating toward.
- Save deals for later: Found something interesting but not ready to buy? Save it. Your saved list stays on your device even if the original post disappears.
- Submit your own finds: Spotted a deal yourself? Submit it directly in the app. Build your reputation as you contribute.
Filtering and sorting are built in too — browse by category, filter by time range (today, yesterday, this week, last 3 days), and sort by newest or most popular.
Who should use it
This is built specifically for people in Korea who actively hunt for deals across multiple communities. If you’re the type to habitually check forums for price drops, if you’re waiting for a specific item to go on sale, or if you like to stock up on everyday essentials and groceries when they’re discounted, this app is built for you. You don’t need to sign up to browse and save deals — that works completely offline. Notifications and personalized recommendations require a quick login (email, Google, or Apple account supported).
The app is free and supported by a banner ad at the bottom of the screen.
