After a few dates, the details blur together. Who mentioned they loved hiking? Which conversation felt effortless? Why did you feel uncertain about someone? DateNotes is a private journal designed to give every date a clean record and a space for honest reflection—so your dating decisions come from what actually happened, not fading memory.

I built DateNotes because I kept forgetting the small details that mattered. A few weeks into dating someone, I’d realize I couldn’t remember how we met, or what we’d actually talked about on our second date. I’d second-guess my own feelings because I was relying on a vague impression instead of a real record. I wanted a tool that would let me slow down, write things down, and actually understand my own patterns—without uploading my dating life to the cloud or signing up for yet another service.
What It Does
- Record each date quickly. A straightforward 5-step entry captures the basics, the person, conversation topics, an honest reflection, and free notes. You can log where you met, how many times you’ve seen this person, and a one-line feeling.
- Organize people and their histories. Each person gets their own card with tags, status, and memo space. See their full timeline of dates at a glance and track whether things are ongoing, a next date is planned, you’re still thinking, or waiting for a reply.
- Reflect honestly after each date. A short self-check prompts you to note conversation quality, comfort level, awkward moments, their response, and your feelings. A clear score and report help you notice your own patterns over time.
- Spot your own trends. Insights show your averages, most common topics, and patterns that emerge from your dates—helping you understand what you actually enjoy.
- Stay private by design. 100% local storage means no account, no sign-up, no cloud. Optional app lock and screenshot blocking keep your data secure. You can export and import whenever you want.

Whether you’re actively dating, swiping on apps, or meeting people through friends, the core idea is the same: reflection works better when you have accurate information. DateNotes gives you a calm place to record what actually happened, not what you think you remember.
