Doneshare for Android: Split Chores Fairly, Together

If you live with a partner, roommates, or family, you’ve probably had the “who’s doing the dishes” argument more than once. Doneshare: Chore Split & Log turns that fuzzy, often unfair negotiation into something you can actually see and agree on, instead of relying on memory or who complains loudest.

I built this because my own household kept running into the same problem: chores got done, but nobody remembered who did what, and it always felt like one person was carrying more than their share. I didn’t want another app that turns housework into a competition. I wanted something that just shows today’s list at a glance, lets you log a chore in a couple of taps, and uses points – not memory or resentment – to settle who’s ahead.

What it does

  • See today’s chores first, including anything overdue, and set them to repeat daily, weekly, or every other week for one person, rotating turns, or anyone in the house.
  • Log a chore in two taps, with an optional photo or short note, and add anyone who helped so the points get shared automatically.
  • Set your own house rules: assign each chore 1 to 5 points, propose changes the whole household agrees on, and set a target split like 60:40 or keep it even. Points on past logs stay as they were, even if you change the rules later.
  • Ask someone to take a chore today or this week, get notified when it’s logged, and send a one-tap “Thanks,” “Nice work,” or “The best.” Every request and proposal lands in a single activity inbox.
  • Check a shared calendar colored by member, review points and logs over any time range, and invite your household with a link, a 6-digit code, or a QR code.

Doneshare is built for working couples living together, roommates splitting a shared house, and families dividing up the housework among several people. It’s for anyone who’s tired of guessing who did what last, who wants chores tracked without turning the household into a scoreboard, and who’d rather spend thirty seconds logging a task than having the same argument every week.

Doneshare: Chore Split & Log is live now on Google Play, with dark mode and sign-in with Google, Apple, or email. If your household’s chore split could use a little more clarity, give it a try on your Android phone.
