If you’re tired of scribbling sets and reps in a notes app, staring at machines you don’t recognize, or trying to remember how much you lifted last week, I built Gymdex for you. It’s a gym exercise catalog paired with a set-by-set workout logger that actually works the way you train.
I built this because I kept running into the same problem: whether I was learning a new movement, switching programs, or just trying to track consistent progress, I needed something that showed me proper form, let me log what I actually did, and gave me back a clear picture of where I stood. I couldn’t find an app that did all three well, so I built one.

What Gymdex Does
- 89 exercises organized by muscle group. Chest, back, shoulders, arms, forearms, legs, glutes, core, cardio, and full body — each with illustrations and step-by-step form breakdowns.
- Filter by equipment. Training with what’s available right now? Filter by barbell, dumbbell, machine, cable, kettlebell, bodyweight, band, or cardio gear.
- Form, mistakes, and tips on every exercise. Each movement includes common beginner errors, practical cues, difficulty ratings, and a video search button tuned to that exact lift.
- Build custom workout plans. Name your splits, assign them to weekdays, and bookmark your go-to movements to reuse across plans.
- Log sets and reps per session. Pre-filled with what you did last time. Reps vary per set (12/10/8 is fine), weight is optional, just check the box when done.
- Track progress with a calendar and charts. See what you trained on any day. Chart total volume, personal records, and session count over 4 weeks, 12 weeks, or all time.
- Add your own exercises. Missing something? Create a custom exercise with a photo, set its body part, equipment, difficulty, target muscles, and steps.

Who This Is For
Gymdex works for new lifters who walk into a gym and have no idea where to start. It’s built for people running a push/pull/legs split or upper/lower routine who need to stay organized. If you’ve been tracking workouts in a notes app or keeping volume in your head, this eliminates that friction. And if you want to see actual data on your progress instead of guessing whether you’re getting stronger, the charts do that.

Built to Stay Private and Work Offline
There’s no sign-up, no account, and no server. Everything lives on your phone. That means you can train in a basement gym with zero signal. Your data exports and imports cleanly if you switch phones. The app supports both English and Korean, with light and dark themes. It’s designed to get out of your way and let you focus on training within your limits.

Gymdex 1.0 is live on Google Play. If you lift weights, run, or train with machines and want a cleaner way to log progress and dial in your form, download it and give it a try. Train smart and stop if a movement feels wrong.
