SledPick Turns Any Decision Into a Sled Race on Android

Picking where to eat lunch, who does the dishes, or whose turn it is to present shouldn’t take longer than the task itself. Most “random picker” apps solve this with a spinning wheel that’s over in half a second and forgotten just as fast. SledPick settles the same everyday choices, but makes you want to watch it happen.

I built this because I was tired of flipping coins and spinning wheels that gave an answer before anyone had time to care. I wanted something where the group actually leans in to watch the outcome, so I put each option on a sled, sent them down an icy track through a snowy forest, and let them race to the finish line together. It turns a boring draw into a few seconds everyone pays attention to.

Features

  • Add up to 30 entries by typing them one per line, or paste a comma or line separated list to fill them all in at once. Quick add lists for food, games, and forfeits save you from typing out the same options again.
  • Save up to 20 named favorite lists, like “Team lunch” or “Standup order,” so recurring decisions are one tap away.
  • Race on four different courses: Aurora Ring, a fast circuit with boost pads and ice pillars; Glacier Canyon, a long loop through hairpins and a jump ramp; Snowball Park, a pinball-style course with bumpers; and Cross Bridge, a circuit that loops back under its own bridge.
  • Watch with a chase camera that follows the leader, switch to any sled or the full overview, and get a slow-motion replay at the finish line, with a photo finish called on close races.
  • Check full results afterward, including finish times and gaps to the winner, then share a result image and message, rerun the race, or watch a replay.

The randomness isn’t just for show, either. SledPick generates a fresh 256-bit random seed the moment you hit start, uses it to shuffle the starting grid, and calculates the whole race from there. The physics engine only ever sees grid positions, never names, so every entry has an equal shot at winning. You can open the “Is it fair?” screen after any race to see the seed and starting grid for yourself.

SledPick is for anyone who has to make small group decisions on a regular basis: coworkers deciding on lunch, roommates splitting chores, friends picking who takes the forfeit on game night, or a team settling a presentation order. It’s also just for people who find a spinning wheel boring and would rather watch something happen before they get their answer.

There’s no sign-up, no login, and no server involved. Your entries and favorites stay on your device.

If you’ve got a group of friends or coworkers who argue about lunch more than they should, give SledPick a try on Google Play and let the sleds settle it.
