If you buy lottery tickets in Korea, you’ve probably wondered: where in my neighborhood do winners actually buy their tickets? Right now, that answer requires digging through weeks of scattered official data. I built an app to fix that.
Donghang Lottery publishes the retail locations of every first and second prize winner each week—but the information is fragmented across dozens of pages. There’s no quick way to see “which store in my area has the most historical winners” without manually checking draw-by-draw. That friction bothered me, so I spent time aggregating all that public data and visualizing it in a way that actually answers the question: where are the hotspots?
What It Does
- Map view with color-coded pins — Retailers are marked by their accumulated first-prize wins. Light orange means one historical win; orange with a small flame means two or more; red with a large flame indicates a top-tier hotspot with wins across multiple draws. Faded pins show stores that used to be lucky but haven’t won recently.
- Nearby hotspots — Enable location access once, and the app visualizes first and second prize retailers within your radius, right on the map.
- Current-draw winners — See this week’s newly announced winning locations as both a map and a list, side by side.
- Detailed retailer profiles — Tap any store to see its full history: wins by draw number, auto vs. manual ticket ratio, distance from your location, and directions.
- Multi-level insights — Drill down through national, provincial, and district-level statistics to compare hotspot distributions and auto/manual ratios.
- Search and favorites — Find retailers by name or address. Bookmark your favorites (stored locally, never sent anywhere).
Who This Is For
This app is for anyone in Korea who buys lottery tickets and wants to make an informed choice about where to buy. If you’ve ever wondered which store in your neighborhood has the longest track record of winners, or if you’re visiting another city and want to check out a known hotspot, this tool answers that in seconds. It’s also useful if you’re curious about auto vs. manual ticket patterns, or if you just enjoy exploring the statistical geography of luck across the country. The app doesn’t predict winners or guarantee anything—it simply organizes public data so you can see the patterns yourself.
No sign-up, no login, and no hidden charges beyond the absence of ads. Location data stays on your device. All data comes from Donghang Lottery’s official public records and updates automatically after each new draw.
