PitchVox comes to iOS: Real-time vocal pitch training

If you’ve ever sung alone and wondered whether you hit the note correctly, you know the problem: your ear alone isn’t always reliable feedback. PitchVox solves this by showing you your pitch in real-time as you sing, with instant visual and textual feedback about what note you’re actually producing.

I built PitchVox because singers and voice students need a way to practice confidently at home. Whether you’re learning to cover a song, working through vocal exercises between lessons, or simply trying to develop better pitch awareness, having a visual reference makes all the difference. The app was previously available on Android, and I’m excited to bring it to iOS users today.

What it does

  • Real-time pitch graphing: Sing into your microphone and watch your pitch flow across the screen as a neon graph. The graph turns cool cyan when you’re on pitch and amber when you drift, showing instantly how far sharp or flat you’ve gone.
  • Instant note display: See the note you’re singing right now in large text—displayed as solfège (do-re-mi) or letter names (C-D-E)—along with the octave and how many cents you’re off target.
  • Practice history: Save your practice sessions to review your average pitch, stability, accuracy rate, and highest/lowest notes sung. Replay your pitch trajectory to identify exactly where you went off.
  • Customizable settings: Choose your preferred note notation, toggle accidentals, adjust microphone sensitivity, set your reference pitch, control graph speed, and define your display range.

The app is lightweight and privacy-respecting. There’s no sign-up required—just open it and start practicing. Your voice is analyzed in real-time on your device only; no audio is recorded, saved, or transmitted. All your practice logs and settings stay on your phone.

Who should use it

PitchVox is for anyone serious about improving their singing. That includes solo singers practicing karaoke or cover songs at home, voice students doing homework between lessons, people working on their upper range, and anyone trying to develop better pitch sense and escape a reputation for being tone-deaf. If you’ve ever thought “I can’t tell if that was right,” this app is for you.

PitchVox 1.0 is now available on the App Store. Download it today and start training your ear with real-time visual feedback.

Note: PitchVox is a practice reference tool designed to support vocal training, not a replacement for professional vocal instruction.
