Every group chat has the same fight: where do we eat, who does the dishes, what do we do this weekend. SlidePick settles it by turning your list of options into a snowy sled race — type in the choices, hit start, and watch sleds tear down an ice course to the finish line.
I built this because a spinning wheel gets boring after the tenth use with friends. I wanted a decider people actually want to watch, not just tap through. Racing sleds down a frozen course felt like the right mix of silly and suspenseful, so I built SlidePick — originally released in Korean as 슬라이픽 – 썰매 레이스 — around that idea.
Features
- Type in up to 30 candidates — paste a comma or line-separated list, edit names inline, shuffle the order, and undo if you don’t like the result.
- Speed things up with quick-add presets for food categories, forfeits, or weekend plans, or save your own lists as favorites (up to 20) for repeat use.
- Pick from four distinct ice courses — Aurora Ring, Glacier Canyon, Snowball Park, and Cross Bridge — each with its own turns, jumps, and bottlenecks.
- Watch the race live: the camera follows the leader, you can tap any sled in the live rankings to follow it instead, get alerts on lead changes and the final lap, and see a slow-motion finish with a photo finish for close calls (or skip straight to the result).
- Every run is provably fair — a 256-bit random seed generated at the start decides starting positions and the whole simulation, based on slot rather than name, and you can check the seed yourself on the results screen.
SlidePick is for anyone stuck making a low-stakes group decision who’d rather watch a race than argue about it — coworkers picking lunch, friends splitting chores or a forfeit, roommates planning the weekend. If you want your randomizer to have a bit of spectacle instead of a plain wheel spin, this is built for you.
SlidePick is live on the App Store now, free to download, no sign-up needed — your lists and favorites stay on your device. Load in today’s candidates, pick a course, and let the sleds decide.
